Allanach Racing billet aluminum clutch bell with steel insert for the HPI Baja 5b. This bell is made of aluminum, with a thin steel layer around the inside. This allows for the cluch bell to have the lightness of aluminum, yet withstand wear from the clutch shoes with the steel insert. Much truer than stock - reduces clutch shoe wear. Elcon 54mm billet clutch assembly. An adjustable clutch with four teflon shoes which is delivered with two types of springs. The clutch can be used for touring cars (long spring) as well as in off-road (short spring). The engagement point is fully adjustable. By using a system of guiding rods on the shaft of the clutch the shoes can only move outwards, thereby ensuring the shoes engage on their full surface area. With this system forces are equally divided onto the clutch and clutchbell, providing a smooth engagement of the clutch and no side loadings on the clutch bell bearings.

25 years (plus) racing experience with large scale model cars has taught us that a ventilated clutch bell has many advantages; it helps to keep the clutch running cooler and ejects some of the worn clutch dust as it rotates. 

With all this information we decided to choose the steel we intended to use carefully, and then manufacture the complete clutch bell from one solid piece of billet steel to ensure the best possible concentricity. We also changed the shaft design slightly to give an improved bearing fit. 

This new KCR custom made clutch bell is unlikely to fail, runs true and cool, and should help to prevent clutch shoe damage and extend the clutch lining life as well.
